10 years!!

Last Friday, June 24th, was Austin's 10th birthday! I can not believe how fast time has flown. It seems like yesterday I was holding him in my arms as a baby. I am so proud to be his mother. He ceases to amaze me. I learn so much from him. He is so smart and such a joy to have around. We definitely have our challenges with him but I wouldn't trade him for anything. Some fun facts about him:

Weight at birth:  8' 10oz     Weight Now:  65 lbs
Length at birth:  22 1/2 "     Height Now:  I'm actually not sure but I know he's tall!!  He's definitely over 4 feet if not close to 5.
His favorite food is cheese enchiladas. His favorite dessert is Lemon Lush.
His favorite activity is playing outside with his brothers and friend, Morgan. ( I think this is just because our WII and playstation aren't working)
His favorite tv show is Ben 10.
His favorite movie is Transformers.
His favorite musical artist is Cascada. (this changes on a daily basis) Some of his other favorites are:  Aerosmith, David Archuleta, Josh Groban, Rascal Flatts, etc.
His favorite color is Scarlet.

So there are a few facts about my big/little boy!

For his birthday this year, he requested to go to our Stake Lagoon Day which happened to be a week BEFORE his birthday. We told him that going to Lagoon would be his birthday present and not to expect anything else other than cake and ice cream on "THE DAY". He was fine with that so we went to Lagoon the week before and then this last Friday on his birthday we invited some family and friends over for cake and ice cream. I didn't get any pictures at Lagoon because I didn't want to carry my camera around but I did get some of his actual birthday.  Austin had a BLAST at Lagoon. His favorite ride is Wicked. He went on it 3 TIMES!!!!  He's C R A Z Y!!!  He also went on the rocket and loved it. He tells me that he loves all the roller coasters. The other boys had a lot of fun too. We all ended up riding Gombora (sp?) and The Bat at least 3 times. Good thing they are fun and somewhat mellow.  Kent got me to go on Wicked.  Let's just say I didn't get sick but I don't know if I'd like to go on it again. It's a "once a season" ride for me.  I felt bad after the ride because some not so very nice words came out of my mouth. I'm blaming it on the G-force my body and brain were subjected to.  Mark and Annalee and their girls (my brother and his family) came up and met us there too. It was fun hanging out with them. They actually rescued me when they first got there because I had lost my family and after an hour of looking for them, I was pretty distraught. That is a story for another time.

So, now that I've rambled....I just wanted to let everyone know what a fun birthday Austin got to have and how proud I am to be able to call him my son.  Here are a few pics of birthday cake and ice cream and opening some gifts from grandma.....

Austin also got some nice things from his Grandma Haws and $$ from his Grandma Green and Uncle Paul.  Thank you to all that made his birthday a great success!!
