Field Trip to the Zoo

On Friday, I had the opportunity to be a volunteer and go with Austin's class on a field trip to the zoo. It was quite fun and I really enjoyed it. I haven't been to Hogle Zoo in a couple of years and they have made a lot of changes since I've been there. It was really nice. I was in charge of 4 kids. They were all really good. I got a little frustrated with the one boy because he kept running off but it was still fun. Here are a few pictures I took of our adventure. Austin's favorite part was the tigers.

My favorite picture of the Tiger. He was growling all over the place. I don't think he likes being behind a fence. He would have rather been where all the kids were watching. :)

The Tiger making his rounds.

Tiger watching all the kids. There were hundreds of kids there from all over!

I think the kids' favorite part was the Discovery playground. Here's Austin on the teeter totter.

I thought this picture was cute of all the kids. Top: Nicholas Bottom: Austin
Left: ShiAnn Right: Brianna

Gorilla. He's so cute!! He was eating and watching the kids.

The kids sizing up the Gorilla. :) Front to Back: Nicholas, ShiAnn, Brianna, & Austin

I thought these guys were really cute. Mommy Tortoise and baby Tortoise

My personal favorite, The Black Bear

I wanted to take a picture of Austin by the penguins but Brianna wanted her picture taken too.

We saw this wolf right as we got there.

This peacock was really pretty. It came right up to us but I wasn't able to get a close up picture because the other boy I was in charge of, scared it off.

Never Give Up

I am amazed at how much a child learns in their first two years of life. It has always fascinated me. Benjamin has started walking just with in the past week and has been working on trying to get up on his own. Also, within this past week he was diagnosed with Asthma. He has not felt good for the past two weeks. Still, he keeps on going. He tries to keep up with his two older brothers and knows in order to do this....he needs to learn to walk and get around. (Scary for MOM!!) It seems like Benjamin has always struggled with being healthy since he was born. It is such an example to me to see him keep going, even though it can be a challenge. I've gone through some of my own challenges in the past little while and have wanted very badly to give up. I am so thankful for such beautiful children that keep me going and make me want to do better.

Here is a video I took of Ben last night accomplishing his task he has been working on for the past week!! Everytime he would fall down, he would laugh and keep trying. It was so cute!!

The Sleeping Snake

I was going through Austin's backpack tonight to make sure everything was okay before he heads back to school tomorrow. He's been out for Spring Break last week. I found some papers that he had in there. I got a kick out of this one. He did this as one of his art projects. I thought it was so cute and I loved Austin's smile!!

Benjamin's First Steps!

I was at the store on Wednesday when I received a video message from Kent. It was of Ben taking his first steps. It was so cute. I was sad that I missed it though. Here's the video...

Later, after I got home I took a video clip of him walking toward me. It is really dark...Sorry. I haven't quite figured out how the video works on my cell phone. Make sure to see the big grin on his face at the end of the video.

Here is a picture I took of him standing on his own and holding a light sabor. Sorry it's dark again. My cell phone camera sucks.

Daddy, I want to go!

Kent came home the other day, said hello to Ben for a minute and then walked back outside for something. You should have seen the look on Benjamin's face. He was so sad!!! He couldn't believe his daddy left him again. It was the first time I've seen him crawl to the door, stand up, and try to open the door. It was hilarious but sad at the same time. He then crawled over to the window to try and see him outside. I had to capture the moment, it was so precious!

Is there any such thing as "Hair Glue"?

I decided to cut my boys' hair today. (Except for Ben) I totally give up on doing it anymore. I mess it up almost every time. I think it's worth the $10 at the hair salon so you don't end up with a disaster like I made today. Austin's haircut turned out fine and cute. When I got to Cameron's, I forgot to put the comb on so he got a complete buzz. I want to cry. I miss his red hair already. I wish there was hair glue so I could glue it all back on. Oh Well. Hopefully it will grow back FAST!! Here are a few pics I took of them....

This was during the nightmare. Kent decided to be funny and do a mohawk!

He was mad at me!!

Such a cute smile...just wish he had his red hair to go with it....

Here's the aftermath. He didn't want me to take his picture.

Here's Aus with his cute smile. He wanted a haircut like Uncle Rob. (his is buzzed bald) I told him no way and so I just cut it shorter than I usually do. He's a cutie.

Blink, Blink, Blink

The other day my friend Lucy was over. She can get Ben to do some pretty funny things. She got him to make a funny face and blink. It was hilarious. Everytime I try to feed him now and I say "eat"....he'll blink at me..

I was doing dishes today and heard Cameron singing a song that I hadn't heard before. I tried getting it on video but he caught me with my camera phone and stopped. Here's some video of him playing. It's not as cute but sometimes I just like to watch Cam play. Hopefully I'll get another video of him singing soon and I'll post that.

I haven't taken any new pictures of Austin or taken any video. I feel like I don't see him hardly at all now that I'm working. By the time I get home, we eat dinner and get ready for bed. In the morning he is at school. I will try real hard to get some new pictures of him posted. He's a cutie as well. He surprises me most days with how smart he is. He is becoming a computer geek. He deleted all my "favorites" on my internet browser the other day. He also deletes and downloads all sorts of stuff. I have now had to password protect my stuff so he doesnt get into it. Smarty pants!
