Babysitting

The past couple of weeks have been pretty busy, eye opening, and rewarding.  I got a call a couple of weeks ago from a day care provider (Shannon) that had been watching a couple of kids.  She told me that she was taking a job in Salt Lake and wondered if she could have my permission to give my number to the mother of the kids. The next day I got a call from Jen (the mother) asking if I would watch her kids the next day and if she could come meet me.  She came to meet me with the kids that night.  She was under the impression that the previous day care provider was leaving for a family emergency and would still be watching her kids the following week.  I didn't say anything. I watched her kids that Friday and got a call from her the following Monday saying that Shannon (the day care provider) was still out of town and asked if I could watch her kids on a day by day basis...So I did. Anyway, to make a long story shorter, Jen called me this past Monday and said she got a hold of Shannon and was told she took the job and asked if I would be her kids permanent baby sitter.  What was a misunderstanding before has turned into something good for me.

I am now watching Brandon, age 5 and Jocelynn, age 2. Yeah!!  I have a girl, I can spoil!! J/K.  In the little time I've been able to watch them, I've become really attached.  It's definitely harder than I thought watching kids but SOOO rewarding!!  I would much rather be doing this than working an office job or some other type of job. The kids are so cute and lovable too.  They get a long with my kids really well and love to give HUGS!

It's definitely a blessing in disguise and an answer to prayers. Kent and I have really struggled financially and this will help supplement our income.  I had originally gone to a day care provider class the beginning of March to get my name out there. I wasn't interested in becoming a licensed provider but just interested in watching a couple of kids a few times a week.  That is where Shannon got my info.  I definitely feel going to that class was inspired.  I am watching Brandon and Jocelynn all week but that's a good thing.

So, now that the LLLOOOONNNGGG story is told (sorry for the rambling), here are a few pics of these cute kids along with Ben!!  I still need to get some pics when I have all 5 kids together......

Yes, my barely 4 year old is towering over the 5 year old!

That's great you'll be able to stay home with your kids and still earn some money!
